Item #: 04100-B Guardian AP280-105 Electric Light/Horn Alarm Unit for Safety Showers
This Guardian Equipment AP280-105 alarm system is sized for safety shower stations with a 1" supply line (no eyewash) and is activated by a flow switch sensor in the supply line. When activation is sensed, the amber beacon (with shatter-resistant lens and protective metal grid) turns on and the weatherproof horn delivers an urgent signal preset at 103 db at 10 ft (an adjustment screw allows variation of the output level). A second set of electrical leads may be used to signal user-supplied remote alarm equipment.
The unit can be mounted on either the vertical pipe of the station or on a wall adjacent to the unit. The flow switch is a 1" IPS single pole double throw switch that installs on the safety station supply line. It must be installed with the tee horizontal and the flow switch body vertical; the switch must be at least 6" from the closest fitting. A 5 amp, 125V electrical supply is required.
This unit is furnished complete with a mounting bracket, junction box and 8' waterproof flexible conduit. Electrical connections must be made by a professional electrician.
