J.L Industries' Ambassador series of fire extinguisher cabinets have doors, trim and tub constructed of cold-rolled steel with a durable white powder-coat finish. The cabinet doors are flush with the trim with a 5/8" door stop are attached by a continuous hinge and are equipped with zinc-plated handle and roller catch.
These cabinets are available in a variety of trim styles and depths to match your application (see picture above). All (except trimless) have a 1-3/4" face trim on the frame and, if glazed, 1-1/4" trim on the door. Installation instructions are available, and you can determine the rough opening for the cabinet you have selected from chart shown in the pictures above.
- Trimless Recessed - for 5/8” depth drywall or 3/4” plaster. Details are available, along with installation instructions for standard trimless and fire-rated trimless cabinets.
- Recessed - 3/8” flat trim.
- Semi-Recessed - 1 1/4", 1 1/2" Square Edge or 2-1/2", 3", 4" (recessed pull), 4-1/2" Rolled Edge. See figure above.
- Surface-mount units have a square edge or optional rolled edge upon request
These cabinets are also available for fire-rated walls (FX2 series) which features foil-faced Firespan™ 90 by Thermafiber® which is attached directly to the outside of the tub. FX2 cabinets have been tested by Underwriters Laboratories® to maintain one and two hour fire-rated wall barriers in accordance with ANSI/UL-1479, ASTM E814 and ULC/Can S115 for membrane and penetration firestops. Please read the size chart above carefully to select the proper cabinet and wall opening. FX installation instructions are available.

Doors come standard with clear acrylic glazing. A variety of other glazing options are available including various tints, safety film, tempered glass, and laminated safety glass.
