This is a great flip placard for most any gas application. With 4 U.S. DOT Class 2 Gas legends plus a blank page, you can use this for most standard loads. When your cargo changes, just flip to the appropriate placard. The placards included are:
- Inhalation Hazard, Class 2
- Oxygen, Class 2
- Flammable Gas, Class 2
- Non-Flammable Gas, Class 2
- Blank White
This system is built for durability in the harshest conditions. The white aluminum back plate has a baked-on polyester finish to resist fading. The legends are corrosion resistant aluminum panels and are held in place with four stainless steel spring clips (replacement clips are available as item # 03185). The base of this unit has rounded corners for easy handling and has a bright white enamel finish.
These placards are priced and sold in cases of 12. US DOT regulations require placarding on the front, back and sides of each vehicle so a case provides enough labeling for 3 vehicles.
TECHNICAL NOTE 1: The US Department of Transportation's DOT Chart 15, Hazardous Materials Markings, Labeling and Placarding Guide is a terrific full-color compliance guide for placarding and labeling and is available for download from their web site.
TECHNICAL NOTE 2: The definitions for Class 2, Divisions 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3 are found in 49 CFR 173.115. Assignment of hazard zones for Class 2 is found in 49 CFR 173.116. For a general discussion of terms and further reading see the SDS HyperGlossary entries on flammable gas, cryogen, LC-50, and flammable aerosol.
