The Water-Flow Monitor-T™ sensor is used to control water in both open flow systems as well as closed recirculating systems in the laboratory in the event of supply failure or popped condenser hose. This unit will sound an alarm upon small reduction in flow and the turbine sensor is suitable for flow rates of 0.38 to 22.0 liters/min (for low flow open systems without an alarm see item #20902 instead).
The unit is installed on the end of your cooling system - for example, on the end of the outlet hose on a distillation condenser. When this compact unit detects a drop in flow it will switch OFF the power to the two power outlets. This unit features an integrated variable voltage control that you can connect to your distillation or reflux heating supply and one fixed voltage outlet that can be connected to a solenoid valve (item#20905 SOLD SEPARATELY) to shut off the water supply line. One unit therefore protects against unattended floods as well as fires.
This unit is easy installed, is rack mountable, and only Nylon™ and acrylic materials are wetted. The unit is suitable for operating temperatures in the range of 10 to 60 °C (50 to 149 °F). Case dimensions: 4" h x 5" w x 6" d. Weight: 3 lb (1.36 kg). Electrical rating: 120 V, 12.5 A @ 1,500 W.
