For a version of this item with an exhalation valve see item # 11157. For BAL Supply NIOSH N99's see item # 11158. We also have stock of US-made PHG NIOSH N95's (item # 11165) as well as US-made ACI NIOSH N95's (item # 11192).
These BAL Supply Inc masks have a host of features that make them the best NIOSH-approved N95 value for the money, hands down:
- No metal nosepiece means fewer nose fatigue and fit issues. Instead, the mask has an ergonomic design to match the nose and the upper seal on the mask is made with a soft, broad fabric flap which increases comfort and makes for a better fit with no need to constantly bend a metal strip between uses.
- No headband staples. The connections to the head bands are fusion welded for greater comfort.
- Stretchy elasticized fabric head bands instead of exposed elastics.
- The inside layer is a softer fabric for a more comfortable fit.
BAL Supply 05144 advanced particulate filtering N95 dust masks are NIOSH-approved (approval number 84A-7719) and are designed to protect the wearer against non-oil-based particles as small as 0.3 microns, while still allowing the user full, deep breaths of clean, fresh air. Each has a flexible, adjustable metal nose piece that can be bent or shaped to ideally fit the user's face. The flexible head strap allows the user to don and remove the mask with ease. These are readily compatible with other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, goggles, earmuffs, and hardhats and the straps are latex-free.
These masks are ideal for protection against small particulates such as saw dust, metal shavings, pollen, allergens, fiberglass, and more. They are ideal for activities such as woodworking or painting at home as well as by professional carpenters, contractors, or lawn care specialists. N95 filtering respirators filter at least 95% of airborne particles. These are not resistant to oil. NIOSH has a convenient discussion of particulate filtering respirator classifications on their web site.
Technical Note 1: Respirators with KN designations such as KN95 are not NIOSH-approved and the market for KN95's is fraught with substandard and counterfeit products and should be considered only when approved alternatives are unavailable. A study by ECRI determined that up up to 70% of imported non-NIOSH certified respirators exhibit filtration performance "significantly inferior" to NIOSH-certified N95's.
Technical Note 2: These masks are manufactured by Taiwan-based Jinfuyu Industrial Co, Ltd which holds the NIOSH approval and has factories in both China and Vietnam. These masks have an expiration date of Nov 15, 2023.
Technical Note 3: The four dots in the center of these mask are NOT holes. They are alignment dots for the version of this mask that has an exhalation valve (item # 11157).
Case dimensions: 27" x 17" x 12" (68.6 x 43.2 x 30.5 cm), 15 lb (6.8 kg).

Hard cup hurts my nose
Posted by Bettie Evanson on Jan 7th 2022
I can’t wear these for any length of time because they are very stiff. As a result they don’t form around my nose and mouth at all, and hurt very quickly.
affordable, cup style, not adjustable
Posted by paul on Jan 21st 2021
They fit me ok but they are cup style, not adjustable, the nose bridge is molded in with a foam cover rather than having the bendable metal strip some masks have. These are definitely economy masks but I'm able to get a decent seal. I don't have a good way to test filtration right now. Straps are welded on and are more solidly attached than they are on some other masks I've had, where they break off and I've been fixing them with hot glue. They come 20 in a box and they are stacked/nested inside a plastic bag in the box. They are not individually wrapped which is slightly disappointing. I'm an average sized male and I can't promise they'll fit everyone. I will be giving them out to family members and see how that goes.
Perfect fit test

I'm a registered nurse. These masks gave a perfect fit test. And I’d actually prefer this mask over any other that I’ve worn because it’s comfortable and has a large amount of breathing area
