These Ohaus Explorer™ NTEP Balances meet or exceed the Class I or II accuracy requirements in accordance with NIST Handbook 44 and Canada’s Weights and Measures Regulations. Certificate of Conformance Number 12-012 was issued under the National Type Evaluation Program (NTEP) of the National Conference on Weights and Measures.  Notice of Approval AM-5847 was issued by Measurement Canada, an Agency of Industry Canada.

These balances are extremely accurate and durable, and are ideal for laboratory and industrial environments. The Analytical models have capacities of 220 g or 320 g with a readability of 0.1 mg and have optional automatic doors (EX.../AD models)  The Precision models have capacities that range from 220 g to 10,200 g with readability from 0.001 g to 0.1 g.  The precision-machined, solid metal weighing cells ensure accurate, reproducible measurements. Each unit features a detachable terminal with a large (5.7" diagonal), full-color VGA graphic display and icon-driven application software that features 14 unique application modes.   Models are available with Ohaus' signature AutoCal™ internal calibration system or with external calibration (model numbers EX../E). Draft Shields are supplied standard for models with 1 mg (0.001 g) readability and are available as an optional accessory for other models. 

Typical application modes include weighing, parts counting, percent weighing, checkweighing, dynamic/animal weighing, filling, totalization/statistics, formulation, density determination, pipette adjustment and ingredient costing. Weigh displays include milligrams, grams, ounces, pounds, troy ounce, grain and dwt.

These balances have a metal base, ABS top housing, a stainless steel pan, a replaceable in-use cover and are powered with an AC adaptor (included).  Communication via RS232, USB Host, USB Device, optional Ethernet (accessory sold separately), GLP/GMP data output with real-time clock.
