The WaterSaver Faucet Co.'s L2870-141 series fixtures are designed for mounting overhead (undermount) or on vertical surfaces such as walls, pipe chases, and service panels. They feature two L2870 fine control needle valves designed for precise flow regulation of laboratory gases such as nitrogen, oxygen, helium and hydrogen. The valve is specially cleaned, lubricated and packaged for use with high purity gases at no extra charge. Needle valves are for use with gases only.
The valve body and handle are forged brass with a polished chrome plated finish. The valve units features a quarter-turn open/close, a chrome-plated brass ball with molded TFE seals, and removable ten-serration hose end that varies in diameter from ~1/2" down to 5/16". The valves include a plastic index disc indicating the type of service the valve is used for. Standard options include air, carbon dioxide, cold water, deionized water, distilled water, gas, hot water, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, and steam (replacement buttons are available as item # Lbutton). Additional indexing options are also available.
Tech note: As of 2023, WaterSaver no longer offers these valves for vacuum service, in part because fine control for vacuum is meaningless over-engineering. For vacuum applications, select the corresponding L2880 needle valve; while these are not listed on our web site you can contact us for pricing or to order any of these other styles.
Each unit is fully assembled and factory tested prior to shipment.
This valve is available in two configurations:
- The L2870-141WSA has a 3/8" IPS mounting shank, locknut and washer and is designed for installation on horizontal or vertical surfaces were there is access behind the wall during installation.
- The L2870-141FT has a 3/8" NPT female inlet and is designed for installation on vertical surfaces where there is no access behind the wall during installation. The flange is threaded onto a nipple stubbed out from the wall and then the threaded escutcheon is then backed up to the wall to secure the valve and conceal the pipe.
If you want a dual valve deck mounted turret, you want one of the L2870-132 series valves which are available from this page.
Deck-mounted configurations are also available (L2870-131 series).
The L4880 series of valves is identical to the L4870 except they are plain needle valves instead of the fine control afforded by the L2870.
