Badger Halotron-1 stored pressure hand-portable fire extinguishers offer the most effective clean agent with Class A, B and C fire capability. Halotron-1 is a versatile and effective multi-purpose clean extinguishing agent where potentially abrasive or corrosive dry chemical agents could cause significant damage to surrounding equipment. It is ideally suited for office computer areas, data storage, telecommunications, high tech clean rooms, aircraft, air traffic control towers, robotics machinery, paint finishing applications, yachts, museums, laboratories, radio/TV broadcast studios, or any process that requires an effective clean agent and extended discharge range. Use Halotron I anywhere a clean agent extinguisher must be more effective, versatile, and user friendly than water or carbon dioxide.
Halotron I discharges as a rapidly evaporating liquid which leaves no residue. It effectively extinguishes Class A and B fires by cooling and smothering and it will not conduct electricity back to the operator. Halotron is pressurized with Argon gas and is an EPA and FAA approved agent suitable for use on Class A, B and C fires. It has a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 0.04 - 0.24, low Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) of 0.014 (twelve times lower than the EPA maximum allowable ODP of 0.20) and a low Atmospheric Lifetime (3-1⁄2 to 11 years). Another clean agent alternative to Halon and Halotron I is Ansul's line of FE-36 extinguishers (item # 09626).
Technical note: The 2018 edition of NFPA 99 states at 18.104.22.168 that "Clean agent or water-mist type fire extinguishers shall be provided in operating rooms" and in A.22.214.171.124. "Dry chemical fire extinguishers should not be provided in operating rooms. The clean agent extinguishers selected should have a Class A rating of some form." At 126.96.36.199 NFPA states "Clean agent-type fire extinguishers shall be provided in telecommunication entrance facilities and telecommunication equipment rooms."
