Product Description
These red fire extinguisher covers have a black imprint and black trim and are made of reinforced vinyl with hook-and-loop (Velcro) closures on the smaller sizes. The 50 and 75 lb size has a string tie with reinforced grommets. They come in regular duty and heavy duty (rated for 5 years minimum service under normal conditions). These are available in sizes to cover 50 to 350 lb units in both materials.

Application Note
The 2013 edition of NFPA 10, Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers states "6.1.3.7 Fire extinguishers installed under conditions where they are subject to physical damage (e.g., from impact, vibration, the environment) shall be protected against damage."
If you are storing your extinguisher outdoors at facilities such as gas stations, fueling racks, on the outside of a vehicle, helicopter landing pad etc., you need a cabinet or cover for that extinguisher to be compliant with this NFPA standard which is incorporated by reference into various regulations and even insurance policies.
