Class K extinguishers are required in commercial kitchens and they are designed to deal with the types of threats posed by cooking appliances and grease. The active extinguishing agent is aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF), which quickly knocks down the flames and forms a vapor-securing blanket to prevent reignition. These are meant to be auxilliary to your built-in kitchen extinguishing system.
